Amber gave her boyfriend, Frederick, title to her house by quitclaim deed after he paid off her mortgage balance. The couple then separated, and Amber moved out. Two months later, they reconciled, but Amber refused to move back into the house with Frederick unless he granted her an undivided one-half interest in the house. The couple then signed a document making them "equal partners" in the house and providing for the disposition of the property in the event of a break-up.
