ASR 242 of the SEC states that relative to payments made to foreign governmental and political officials, “. . . registrants have a continuing obligation to disclose all material information and all information necessary to prevent other disclosures made from being misleading with respect to such transactions.” This ASR appeared shortly after the passage of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
