Before switch S in Figure is closed, the voltage across the terminals of the switch is 120
Question:
Before switch S in Figure is closed, the voltage across the terminals of the switch is 120 V and the voltage across the 0.2 ?F capacitor is 40 V. The total energy stored in the two capacitors is 1440 ?J. After closing the switch, the voltage across each capacitor is 80 V, and the energy stored by the two capacitors has dropped to 960 ?J. Determine the capacitance of C2 and the charge on that capacitor before the switch was closed.
