Question

Campbell et al. reported the results of an experiment with children. Some were randomly assigned to a new "intensive" preschool and others to the regular preschool. Then it was noted whether each child had a felony conviction by age 21.
a. Test the hypothesis that type of preschool and a later felony conviction are independent, using a significance level of 0.05; use chi-square.
Assume the conditions are met, and report only the chi-square value, the p-value, and the conclusion. The table shows the data.
b. Use Fisher's Exact Test to do the same comparison. Report the p-value (two-tailed) and conclusion.
c. Compare the two p-values and conclusions. Which test is more accurate, and how do you know?
