Currently, you are an experienced senior working at a public accounting firm. For the upcoming busy season you received a new client, a publicly traded corporation. The manager on this client is someone you have not worked with before. You hope to impress this manager because you hear that she strongly supports those seniors who work for her if she considers them to be excellent employees. At the end of this busy season, you will be up for promotion to manager and would like her support.
Next week you have an internal planning meeting with the manager. Today you will be working in the office, and you have decided to devote the day to performing some background reading to become acquainted with this client. When you get to the office today, you learn that the manager is at a client location and unreachable. Since you will not be able to get any background information on your client from her today, you decide you will get information alternatively using the Internet.
Required
a. Using the SEC's browser, select a company from the EDGAR database with a name beginning with the first letter of your last name. The company selected will be your new client as discussed above.
b. Prepare a one- to two-page summary listing the types of reports made to the SEC by your client over the last year. Include a brief description of the contents of each of these reports. Select one of the reports and print the first page of that report.
