I wish to conduct an experiment to determine the effectiveness of a new language arts program for tenth grade students in my local school district (there are two high schools with a total of approximately 600 10th grade students) who need foreign language credits to qualify for admission into major universities. What parameters would I need to establish on the test (# of samples, who would conduct the test, test conditions, ethical questions, etc.)? Be as specific as you can (you don't need to be educational experts to answer this). What would be an appropriate statistical test for this data and research question? Why would this be more appropriate than some other statistical test?
