In 1983 the Department of Dairy Science at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University conducted an experiment to study the effect of feed rations, differing by source of protein, on the average daily milk production of cows. There were 5 rations used in the experiment. A 5 x 5 Latin square was used in which the rows represented different cows and the columns were different lactation periods. The following data, recorded in kilograms, were analyzed by the Statistical Consulting Center at Virginia Tech. At the 0.01 level of significance can we conclude that rations with different sources of protein have an effect on the average daily milk production ofcows?
