In an attempt to learn more about traffic congestion in a large North American city, the number of cars passing through intersections was determined (National Post, October 18, 2006). The number of cars was counted in 5-minute samples throughout several days. The counts for one busy intersection were recorded. Estimate with 95% confidence the mean number of cars in 5 minutes. Use the result to estimate the counts for a 24-hour day.
