In reference to the college students who participated in a learning community in Exercise 10. 36, a control group of students was also formed for testing and comparison. Ten randomly selected college students who were not involved in the learning community were given pre–self-esteem and post–self-esteem surveys. The scores on the surveys for the control group are as follows:
Does this sample of students show sufficient evidence that self-esteem scores were higher after participation in a learning community? Lower scores indicate higher selfesteem. Use the 0.05 level of significance and assume normality of scores.
