Part 1. 1. Conduct online research to select a model of a major brand of PC (HP-Compaq, Dell, Acer, Gateway, Sony, Lenovo, etc.) and a recent-model Mac computer. 2. Research the following peripherals for purchase: printer, scanner, webcam, and a 500 GB portable hard drive. Note that the Mac computer will need Mac-compatible peripherals and software. 3. Assume that you will need to purchase Microsoft Office Professional 2010 as essential software needed for school-work as it does not come pre-installed in any of the computers being considered. Research other software programs you would recommend. 4. Construct a spreadsheet in Excel. 5. Label the column headings: Item, PC, and Mac. 6. Label the row headings: Brand, Model, Processor, Operating System, Hard Disk Capacity, Random Access Memory, Additional Features, Packaged Software, Warranty, Computer Cost, Printer Cost, Scanner Cost, Webcam Cost, 500 GB Portable Hard Drive Cost, and Microsoft Office Professional Software Cost. 7. At the bottom of the list, calculate the total cost of the two computer systems with the software included. Name this "Total Cost". 8. Add an appropriate spreadsheet title, and column headings. Apply professional formatting to the spreadsheet data. 9. Construct a pie chart showing the percentage of the total price that each component of the PC system represents. Do the same for the Mac. Place both pie charts on the same page as the spreadsheet. Ensure that everything prints on one page in landscape orientation and is readable when printed.
Part Two-Presentation Instructions: 1.Create a PowerPoint presentation using the comparative information obtained from your research in order to convince your friend which computer she should purchase. 2. Use a slide to compare Internet Service Provider options. 3. Change the slide layout for slides three through six to "Two Content" slides. The text should appear on the left side of the slide. Include Clip Art on the right side of each of the above-mentioned slides. The Clip Art must be relevant to the text. 4. Apply a slide design to the presentation. 5. Apply a different transition to each slide. 6. Apply a custom animation to the Clip Art located on the Internet Service Provider slide.
