Project Description:

(1) two point charges, each of magnitude 3x10^-6c, but opposite sign, are placed 8cm from a point a, (forming 90 degree angle). a point charge of magnitude 1x10^-6 is at point a. determine the magnitude and direction of the net electric force on the charge at point a.

(2) orifices are commonly placed in flow lines to measure the flow rate through the line. the flow rate is proportional to the square root of the pressure decrease across the orifice. the mercury manometer shown here is used to measure this pressure decrease between points a and b at the pipe wall. answer the questions below for h1 = 10.2 cm and h2 = 1.09 cm.
