following is the oil extraction process. beans are fed in an agitated tank containing the solvent. some of the bean oil is extracted into the solvent. the bean solids leaving the extractor are centrifuged to separate the solvent from the bean solid. the solvent is fed back to the extractor and the bean solid is
discarded. the solvent containing bean oil is sent to a flash unit to separate the solvent from the oil. the solvent containing some oil is then recycled back to join fresh solvent as feed to the extractor. the percentage given in the following information is mass percentage.

 each 100 kg of beans contains 2 kg of oil. the extraction removes 95% of the oil in the beans.


 for each 100kg of fresh beans, 25 kg of solvent leaves with the bean solids, of which 22 kg is wrung and sent back to the extractor.


 the solution that enters the extractor contains 97% of pure solvent and that which enters the flash unit contains 87% of pure solvent. the oil product leaving the flash unit contains 8% of
solvent.
