Revisit the guidelines in this chapter for negotiating a job offer. Then, with the two classmates you worked with for Exercise 16, practice negotiating. Divide roles: the hiring manager, candidate, and observer. The hiring manager and observer should meet privately first to decide on an offer. At a minimum, include the salary, bonus, vacation time, remote work schedule, and relocation assistance.

The hiring manager then presents the offer, and the candidate responds. After some back-and-forth conversation, discuss the results. The observer should give feedback to both negotiators, and they can weigh in as well.
