Anchor, Inc., makes prewrapped mattress springs. Through an employee’s carelessness, an improperly wrapped spring is sold to Bloom Company, which uses it in the manufacture of a mattress. Bloom sells the mattress to Beds Unlimited, which sells it to Kay. While sleeping on the mattress, Kay is stabbed in the back by the spring. The wound becomes infected, and Kay becomes seriously ill.
