Is there a significant difference in number of beds between hospitals of these two types of ownership? Assume that the population standard deviation for Nongovernment Nonprofit is 160 and for Other Nonprofit is 150.
3. Compute the proportion of hospitals in the AHA database that are government nonfederal (Gov NonFed, coded 1) and the proportion of hospitals that are investor-owned for profit (Investor Owned For Profit, coded 5). Using these as sample proportions and their respective sample sizes in the database, test to determine if there is a significant difference in the proportions of these two types of hospital in the population.
