A supermarket manager wishes to investigate the quality of plums. Plums can be delivered from source to the supermarket either chilled (below 5°C) or At a constant temperature of 12°C. The anion of time (in days) it takes for the plums to become soft and therefore overripe is measured and ranked. The highest rank is the quickest to become overripe.

Carry out an appropriate non-parametric test, at the 5% level of significance, to investigate whether the chilled plums take longer to become overripe.
