“You know,” Hannah started, “As a single woman there were times when I needed a man to lift something or an extra pair of hands to help me with some task in my house and many of my single women friends did, too. My friend, Janice, is the only one in my closest circle to be married. Ryan is a firefighter with a two days on, two days off schedule and we’d all call on Ryan on his days off to help us out.  One day he joked that we should be renting him. That’s where the idea for ‘Hannah’s Helpful Husbands’ came from. I got a $500 loan from my bank to print flyers and my friends helped me put them on car windshields at the mall. For $25 dollars a hour or $150 for the day, anyone within the greater metro-area can get the services of one of our helpers. Ryan was our first ‘helpful husband’ and enlisted a number of the other firefighters to join us as well on their days off. Most of our clients want the men when they need a little extra muscle or a particular skill, but lately we’ve had requests for chauffeuring for a woman in a cast and even a few requests for escorts for an evening out.”
