A study found that, among youths between the ages of 8 and 18 who were playing competitive soccer, those who had been playing for several years liked soccer more than did those who had been playing for only a few years, suggesting that “the more you play soccer, the more you like it.” Identify the most important statistical bias in this sample and describe a (hypothetical) controlled experiment that would get rid of this problem.
