The purpose of this question is to make students aware of the importance of their own HR-related actions. It certainly is the case that individual managers can be held civilly, and sometimes even criminally, responsible for their actions at work. While this question is not intended to scare students, it is important that they come to recognize that the actions they take at work can indeed have far-reaching consequences.
