Question:

Peters, an employee of a union as a business agent was subpoenaed to testify before a legislative committee. He claimed that he was instructed by the union's secretary-treasurer in charge of employees to give false testimony when questioned. Instead, he gave truthful testimony and was discharged from his position for that reason. His employment was an “at will” arrangement. Nevertheless he sued for wrongful discharge. How would you rule?
