I have being tutoring formally and informally for some years now.
My informal tutoring includes several 'push-up' assignments that I take up to help students who are weak in particular subjects (eg. a class 2 student who recently relocated to a new country needed help in the local language which forms part of the school curriculum). Once the students reach the desired level my role is more of an advisor to the parents. Gradually my role comes to an end when both students & parents are satisfied with the progress made with minimal tutoring requirement.
My formal tutoring skills include a two year full-time Lecturer role (2009-2011) in a University where I used to teach Bachelor's & Master's level students in Biotechnology, Bioanalytical and Environental Sciences.
