1. Prepare a detailed comparison and analysis of ways in which your own organisation (or some other organisation well known to you) tends to display characteristic features of mechanistic and organic structures.

2. Prepare detailed notes on: 

– The effectiveness of structure in relation to systems and styles of management, the various activities of the organisation and the people employed; and 

– Different perceptions of both mechanistic and organic features, and examples of tension and conflict which arise from a mix of both structures.

3. As a senior manager, explain fully what actions you would recommend in order to help overcome these tensions and conflicts.
