A firm’s production function is given by Q = 16√K + 6√L where Q, K and L denote output, capital and labour, respectively. The cost of providing each unit of capital and labour is $80 and $27, respectively. Find the number of units of capital and labour if the firm wishes to minimise total costs whilst satisfying a production quota of 102 units of output.
