At an organization with which you have contact, ask one or more employees to draw a picture
Question:
At an organization with which you have contact, ask one or more employees to draw a “picture” of the business process they interact with at that organization. Ask them to draw the process using whatever format suits them. Ask them to depict in their diagram each of the components of the process and the flow of information among these components at the highest level of detail possible. What type of diagram have they drawn? In what ways does it resemble (and not resemble) a DFD? Why? When they have finished, help the employees to convert their diagram to a standard DFD. In what ways is the DFD stronger and/or weaker than the original diagram?
