Sir Alex Ferguson has been teaching at Harvard Business School. His leadership technique has been described as ‘largely based on the application of fear’ (White, 2012). He is well known for his ferocity (e.g. kicking a football boot that gashed David Beckham’s eyebrow in 2003) and for quotes such as ‘if anyone steps out of my control, that’s them dead’ (White, 2012).
