Read about “Ethical decision-making Model” that is described in Glover (2006) and outlined below. The cases are very short so you do not have a lot of facts to work with. For that part of the ethical decision-making model, you should focus on the facts that you need to gather to make a decision. As a practical tool for ethical analysis, ethical decision-making models have been widely promoted. There are many variations of these models. The one presented below is discussed in detail in the Glover reading.

1. What is the ethical question? 2. What are the facts? 3. What are the values at stake in this scenario? 4. What are the options? 5. What should I do? 6. What justifies my choice? 7. How can this problem be avoided?

Case 2 -- You discover that a co-worker has learned your password and accessed an EHR of a celebrity patient who is HIV positive.
