Question:
The quality of REI is the first thing noticed on the website; that is their marketing strategy. They make finding what you’re looking for easy, comparing the item of choice is made simple, and the actual payment portion is geared towards the customer in understanding that not everyone can just buy outright so they offer discounts and a range of prices. They are completely focused to help their customers navigate through what the customer wants as far as their needs and include what other options are available to meet those needs. I do like that there is customer feedback which means REI is in tune with what their consumers like and dislike; offering an open communication between consumer and company. I also like that there are star ratings to see how the customers rank the items that they have purchased. I also like that they offer a section specifically for customers that have questions concerning a product. Overall, REI hasn't missed a beat as far as making sure they are fully committed to their customer. In Unit 1 I compared REI to the Sporting Authority, hands down REI is more interested in consumer satisfaction rather than making sales. The marketing aspect of this business is awesome because quality sells letting the customer know that not only are they making a purchase, they are investing in a product worthy of their hard earned money. They really have thought of all the stops, or either I'm not thinking hard enough on what can be done differently to improve their site.
