Write a paper in which you will briefly discuss the emergence of Early Renaissance palazzos in Florence and villas around Florence. You will describe compositional features (inner court, three-tiered facades, heavy cornices, rustication), source of inspiration (medieval Tuscan fortresses, Colosseum) of 15th–century Renaissance palazzos using the examples of Medici-Riccardi and Rucellai palaces and of Early Renaissance villas using the example of the only 15th-century villa included in the textbook (Villa Medici at Poggio a Caiano).
