The number of employers cybervetting as part of their recruitment processes has been reported as more than a third with some reporting as high as 91%! Why wouldn't they look? The purpose of this assessment task is to critically review and build your online reputation or "personal brand". This relates to learning outcomes:
- Assess and explain the importance of authentic personal branding;
- Demonstrate an informed understanding of the anchors of their personal narrative;
- Exhibit the skills, knowledge and attributes of a business professional;
- Initiate the development of networks and professional contacts within their chosen industry sector; and
- Critique, assess and articulate their and others personal brands in a variety of contexts including verbal, print and digital.

INSTRUCTIONS
To get started on your assessment task, please follow the below instructions.
- Review each section of the assessment worksheet.
- Respond to the prompts in the spaces provided for the three steps:
- Google yourself and report on your findings for each of the four sections.
- Choose the social media account you are most active in and complete the worksheet reporting your observations and any changes that need to be made. Use the examples in the blue column as a guide.
- Developing my Personal Brand: complete the reflection questions (drawing on a range of sources to support your points).
- List your references - using APA 7 referencing conventions - be sure sources listed are also referenced in text to show how you have applied the information. A minimum of two sources should be listed.
