When you look at your reflection in the bowl of a spoon, you will notice that (in addition to looking quite distorted) your image will appear upside down. Have you ever wondered why? We will explore this now. The figure below shows a person looking into the bowl of a (very large) spoon. Only a cross-section of the spoon is shown. The lines shown are the normal lines to the spoon at the points A, B, and C. Use these normal lines and the laws of reflection to determine what the person sees when she looks at points A, B, and C.
