A travel company wants to identify the salient features of families that have visited a vacation resort during last two years. Data were obtained from a sample of 30 households and discriminant analysis was performed considering two groups of families, those who visited the resort in last two years as group 1; and those who did not as group 2. Independent variables were annual family income, attitude towards travel, importance attached to family vacation, household size, and age of the household head.
