Question:
Although it seems like women-owned and veteran women-owned business are in the rise, it is still very challenging for women to get the capital needed for their business. Investors will give the opportunity to men and not women. These investors ask these businesswomen for more requirements than the requirements that men are asked to be able to get the capital needed to start or to have the business a float. They think women are not aggressive enough to be able to have a successful business. Some women don't have the support from family or friends and that will affect their attitude towards how to approach challenges in the entrepreneurship industry. Women in general tend to be less risk-takers than men and most times that hurts the business. This used to be a men's world, it is changing but there are still many men that are bias and judgmental when it comes to independent business women. Yes, the women-owned businesses industry is growing. But, sadly, many women and veteran women do not know about all the resources out there that can make it a bit easier to get capital to have financial freedom to use in their business. For example, now days there are many organizations that partnered together to help with funds or grants to minority business, this includes women-owned (WOBE) and veteran women-owned (VWOBE) businesses. There are so many trainings about business management that can be useful as well.
