Assignment Objectives: The aim of this assignment is to identify and map the Client Company's MAIN Primary and Support activities and describe/rank them in terms of the value they add to the firm's output. The results of this analysis should provide an understanding of how the Client Company's activities "fit" together and how they add value; consequently, they should also help the firm determine how to best allocate its resources among its activities. Assignment Instructions: To Complete this assignment, please complete the tasks below: I. Map out the client company's value chain according to the following steps: a) Develop a list of the main activities, or groups of activities (e.g. procurement, marketing, recruitment, software development, etc.), specifically performed by the client firm to transform its inputs into the products and services its providers to its consumers. Here it is important to remember that value-chains differ from business to business. Therefore, you should attempt to identify and map the activities that apply to your specific client's specific business. b) Categorize those activities into "Primary Activities" or "Support Activities". c) Using a diagram like the one below, list the "Support Activities" within the horizontal rectangles, and the "Primary Activities" in the vertical rectangles, making sure that the latter are listed in a chronological order (e.g. manufacturing should be placed before sales).
