Question:
Below are the instructions on how I need to form this research essay. My research topic deals with the personal journey, experiences, and motivation behind choosing a career in pediatric nursing. It highlights the value of compassion and commitment to providing care for young children.
Instructions below:
- THE 4 BODY PARAGRAPHS: Each paragraph should include one of your source materials. Each paragraph should follow the "Quote Sandwich" method.
1. Begin with a topic sentence. A topic sentence should address one, and only one, specific mini research topic, e.g. common coursework, degree programs, job requirements, additional certifications, etc.
2. Introduce evidence (quote, fact,or paraphrase). Discuss what you did to find out more information about your research topic. Tell the reader where you looked, who you talked to, what you did, and why you chose that source.3. Give the exact fact, quote, or paraphrase to back what you say (and cite those sources with parenthetical documentation). Make sure you use sources to specifically back up what you have to say. Don't let quotes speak for you, use them to validate your paper. Remember, if you couldn't have known a piece of information by just living your life, you need a source. For example, you can say "the sky is blue" without a citation, but if you tell WHY the sky is blue, you must CITE YOUR SOURCE! 4. Explain the fact, quote, or paraphrase to tell how it relates to the content of your paper. How does it add to your knowledge, why was it important, or did it significantly change your understanding of the topic. - CONCLUSION: Close it out. When you are done presenting your research and sources, create a short conclusion stating the claim and context of your research, and summarizing your research findings.
