Individually, or in groups of two or three, you will plan and implement a project to accomplish a meaningful change. Your project must result in a change in process, system, or structure within the community, business or non-profit organization, government institution, or the college. Your change project must meet two criteria:

 1. It must show promise of being a worthwhile learning experience. 

2. It must have some societal benefit. You are encouraged to select a project that you personally value and for which you have a genuine concern

. This project involves a lot of work so be sure to select something you care about. Value: 25% The change project includes two interim reports (proposal and planning) and a final report. Proposal – Project Description and Vision Statement 5% Your Report must include: • a description of your change project and the reason for the change • the expected impact this change will have and what the indicators of success will be • a vision statement for the change Planning – Project Plan and Analyses 10% Your Report must include: • a work breakdown structure aligned with a change model • a communication strategy • a force field analysis • a stakeholder analysis • a progress update Step 1. Choose a change model that represents the key aspects of the change that you are proposing. The model may be selected from the course readings, from one that was presented and discussed in class, or from your additional research.

 You will use this change model to guide the implementation of the change you are proposing. Step 2. Briefly describe your change model and provide a rationale for why you’ve selected this particular model. You are not expected to discuss the model in detail but are expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of it. Step 3. Develop a detailed work breakdown structure for your change project. The phases of your project plan must align with the phases of the change model you’ve selected. Step 4. Develop a communication strategy that you will use to implement your proposed change. Describe who you will communicate with, when, and you’re your communication strategy needs to include internal as well as external stakeholders to the organization. Step 5. Include force field analysis and stakeholder analysis using template. Include a progress update and next steps. Briefly summarize your efforts to date and discuss your reflections regarding any challenges, opportunities, and new learnings as a result of this change project. Final Report – Project Evaluation and Key Learnings 10% The Final Report is an individual submission, regardless if yours was a group project. Your Final Report must represent reflective thought as a change leader and include • a description of your change project over time • an analysis of the successes and challenges you and/or your group experienced • results from the following Toolkit Exercises - Toolkit Exercise 8.2: Myself as a Change Agent - Toolkit Exercise 8.4: What Is Your Change Agent Preference - Toolkit Exercise 8.5: Your Skills as a Change Team Member • what you, personally, have learned from undertaking this change project, from the perspective of a change leader • what you would do differently, and why
