You prepare  persuasive proposal presentation to propose a high school recruitment event.

This can be any kind of event that takes place in a Canadian or international high school to promote Conestoga College.

Directions

Create a digital proposal for your project idea:

 

Using the following sections complete a digital (MS PowerPoint) proposal presentation to convince management. Your objective is to convince senior management that your idea is a good idea and worth the investment of time and money.  The goal is to persuade the company to proceed with and approve your internal proposal.

 

PROJECT TITLE SLIDE: Give your project a name.

Include your name and date in this slide.

INTRODUCTION: Briefly introduce the product/process idea

What exactly are you proposing?

For what purpose? What are you hoping to achieve?

Include a drawing, photograph, picture, or video to represent your idea.

RATIONALE: What is the business need for the project? (may be several slides)

Background information (current situation).

Why it should be done (need and evidence supporting need).

Market/Industry research. (post-secondary industry)

Competitor research. (North American colleges and universities)

Statistics.

** all research included must be properly integrated as well as cited and referenced with APA.

** a minimum of three sources (articles, journals etc...) must be used to support a minimum of three quotations. 

PROJECT GOAL: How will this benefit the company (Conestoga)? What is the hoped-for result?

Consider profits/ exposure/ market share/ customer service.

Graphs and tables can be included here to visually express this.

PROJECT STRENGTHS AND RISKS

What are the project strengths? (areas you strongly feel will be successful).

What are the project risks (areas you feel have risk of failure or issue).

How do you plan to prepare for and mitigate the risks?

PROJECT SCOPE: What will and will not be included in the project?

Consider using a table (In Scope / Out of Scope)

SUMMARY: Summarize the overall idea, project, benefits and need.

This is where you give your final persuasive call to action.

The idea should be appealing and interesting.

REFERENCES: Include a reference slide 

All quotations and images should have an end reference to accompany the intext citation.

Format

You must submit your proposal in digital format (PowerPoint). If you have another suggestion, please seek your instructor's approval.

 

Reminders

Your presentation should be persuasive, interesting, and innovative.

You will be marked on your analyzation and writing ability!  Use point form (bulleted) information in your slides and provide full sentences and paragraphs of writing to be evaluated in the comment sections of the slides.

You will NOT be marked on the idea itself but the writing must be coherent and show an understanding of business growth. 

You MUST use at least three external sources to integrate a minimum of three quotations to validate your market, competitor, or company research - These MUST contain an intext citation and end reference.

All images you use that are not your own must also be cited and referenced.

Eight Sections do not mean eight slides - some sections will require multiple slides to complete the section.

Be sure to include section titles and headers for organization and flow.

Write from the perspective of being an employee of the company.

Proposal expertly summarizes the key internal selling features moving audience to action. 

A clear persuasive close was used and executed well.  Approval was asked for.

 

Writing demonstrates excellent control of grammatical English. The writing shows evidence of careful proofreading. Little to no errors at the word/sentence level
