Civil society is becoming increasingly knowledgeable about governmental policies and actions. This is due to technological developments making occurrences almost instantaneously available to civil society. Contemporary society is not satisfied to be mere receivers of services considered important by government. They demand to have their needs and expectations recognised and addressed. 

Identify at least three civil society organisations in the area in which you work. 

Examine how they contribute to changes in policies that you are familiar with.
