1. Reflect upon the manner in which social justice studies correspond and critically reflect on your understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression, especially in respect to social categories such as race/ethnicity, gender, class, ability, sexuality, disability, etc.
2. Relate your Critical Reflection to at least 3 references from "Privilege, Power, and Difference" by Allan Johnson
3. The strongest critical reflections will not only discuss personal experience in relation to the course materials; but highlight the major concepts, and deeply reflect, on how power and privilege impact individual or groups' social positionality, both historically and in contemporary society in the U.S. and abroad.
4. When did you first begin to understand yourself in respect to the social categories race/ethnicity, gender, class, ability, sexuality, disability, etc. ?
5. How has place and geography shaped the way you interact with others. Think carefully about the characteristics of neighborhood, communities, and intimate spaces that have had an impact on your identity formation?
6. Identify how systems of power and privilege have impacted the decisions you have made, the opportunities you have had, and the hardships you have endured. What kinds of experiences and interactions have produced the vocabulary through which you have come to speak the truth about your life?
