Question:
Create a three to five minute persuasive decision briefing based on the following situation and scenario.
Situation: You have asked your boss for some time with one of the senior executives regarding your personal professional development. The briefing will be conducted over a video conference call. The senior executive is an older, very traditional businessperson who has been with the organization for 30 years. As a very "traditional businessperson,” the boss has a low tolerance for those who waste time. The boss is extremely strict and cuts off presentations abruptly if the presenter is too long winded or provides an invalid argument. Those who present in a clear, concise, professional manner have done well in the company and are well rewarded. Good luck!
Scenario: Education is important to you. You would like to attend a professional development program, and you would like the company to provide tuition assistance. The boss, however, has historically been very reluctant to spend money or allocate time for personal training and education. Identify a local or online education program (e.g. a training or degree program), conduct research on the program, and try to persuade the boss that this program would be in the best interest of the company. Be able to back up your argument and make sure the boss has your reference and access to your data.
