Design Task: You have to design a communication system to transmit a sinusoidal message signal of audio frequency range. You have to pick one of the carrier types (sinusoidal or pulse). Thereafter you have to select one of the main modulation schemes, followed by one of the specific/sub- modulation types within that category (if applicable). The main and specific modulation techniques you pick have to be supported by justification and arguments against the modulation techniques that you did not pick. You may include blocks that you feel are necessary to ensure successful communication. You need to assume and include ONE impairment in your communication system. You will then need to include block(s) to remove/reduce the impairment. Draw diagram of the communication system, showing different blocks/stages. Deciding specific values, you need to show the variation of waveform as it proceeds through the communication system. Hence an accurate picture of your waveform after every stage is required. You should use spectral diagrams also to explain or illustrate your point. At the end of the report, you need to provide information about how the performance of your proposed communication system can be improved. Objectives: 1. To design a communication system for given signal and selected modulation schemes 2. To select, use and justify the use of different blocks inside a communication system 3. To show the progression of the signal as it moves through the communication system References: A.B Carlson and Paul Crilly, "Communication Systems," Fifth Edition, 2009, McGraw-Hill, ISBN- 13: 978-0073380407.
