Directions Answer each question completely and in your own words. All work should be your own and different than the people around you. Be sure to show ALL of your work and circle your final answers. Part 1: Graphing What was the VA Asymptote from your egg? What is the HA Asymptotes from your egg? Create a function with these asymptotes AND has a hole Write f(x) In factored form VA: Write g(x) in standard form (Multiply your numerator and denominator) Find each of the following algebraically. Check your answers graphically and then neatly draw your function below. Domain: X-intercept: a(x). Range: HA: (Only graphically) Y-intercept: Graph the function Graph the asymptotes as dotted lines. Graph the intercepts Rewrite g(x) from page one: g(x) Solving with your Rational Function. Solve algebraically. 1. Solve g(x)= 5 Solve Graphically. 2. Solve g(x) == $ 4 3+ 4- 5- 1 Rewrite f(x) from page one: /(x) = Simplifying with your Rational Function. Solve each equation below algebraically. Show all of your work. Check your answer graphically. 3. f(x)-(3x-5) x+3 4. (/(x)) + (¹+6+5) x²+4x-12/ Part 2: Write a rational function that is in the form F(x)= ax² +bx+c (come up with your own numbers for a,b,c, and d) Divide your numerator by your denominator using synthetic division. You most likely will NOT get zero at the end, that is ok. G(x)= Write the 2 numbers you got at the bottom of your division (usually our a,b, and c for a quadratic) as a linear function (ax + b) Graph your original rational function, f(x), and your linear function, g(x). What do you notice about these 2 functions? Does it remind you of anything we have been learning about? Directions Answer each question completely and in your own words.
