Do young females text more than young males? The Pew Research Center released a study in April 2015 titled Teens, Social Media & Technology* which presents data on U.S. teenagers that can be used to answer this question. The Pew Research Center is a non-partisan organization that conducts public opinion polling and research on U.S. politics and policy, journalism and media, the Internet, science and technology, and social and demographic trends in the U.S. The survey was administered online in late 2014 and early 2015 to a nationally representative sample of 1,060 U.S. teenagers. Each survey respondent provided information about their sex, age, and average number of text messages sent per day. The table below displays the results of a small sample of teenagers.
