Question:
- For the following project please follow the below guidelines unless otherwise stated by your instructor. Worth 20% of the total grade.
- Read and follow all instructions in order to receive full credit. Adjustments and/or additional instructions may be given by your instructor.
- The paper will equal your Project Grade. See the percentage for each project based on 20% of your total grade.
- The deadline is given by the instructor, on the assignment schedule, and calendar of the D2L course.
- A three (3) minute presentation will be required. Online students will post to a discussion folder instead of the presentation (however they will be required to write the paper). No PowerPoint or handouts are required.
- Projects must be your original work.
- Questions should be posted to the Discussion Folder in your course if online or face-to-face based on the Instructor's requirement.
- The project requires a paper that must be in MLA format. Use resources to ensure proper formatting (1-inch margins, 12 font, double spacing, page numbering, header, font, spelling, grammar, including all information and URL for work, cited page, etc.).
- Copy and paste the URLs in your web browser to find resources in MLA Format. TTC Academic Resource Center to assist with MS Word or obtaining MS Office 365 (https://my.tridenttech.edu/resources/academicresource/Pages/default.aspx), TTC Library-TTC Learning Objects-Reading and Writing link. https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_style_introduction.html- Purdue Owl is a great tool to help you with formatting in MLA formatting. (http://www.tridenttech.edu/student/resources/library/st_liblearn.htm), and TTC Learning Center(https://my.tridenttech.edu/resources/tutoring/Pages/default.aspx).
- Also use the Accounting Resources libguides for The Research Process, accounting databases and journals, and other viable resources http://libguides.tridenttech.edu/accounting. If you are off campus use your student Id number to access TTC's Library site. DO NOT use Blogs, Investopedia, or Wikipedia as your source.
- Other sites in which to conduct searches include major organizations/firms (i.e. PwC, SEC, Deloitte)
- Turnitin will be used to evaluate your paper and its originality. If your paper comes in more than 25% plagiarized you need to go look at the evaluation and fix the problem. You will receive point deductions or a zero based on the requirement for the specific assignment, therefore, no plagiarism. Also, due to the paper lengths for the project, you can use bullets (still must meet the paperwork or page requirements and should not be excessive!). Submit your work to the Assignment dropbox and the results will then be seen for your percentage of originality. You may submit it again if necessary as long as it is before the deadline.
- You CAN NOT use the same paper turned in for this or another course by you or anyone else.
ACC 111 Project Information - Project 1 - Why
Accounting/Business/Human Resources, etc.
ONLINE:(50% for paper and 50% for Summary post and
response to classmates)
IN-CLASS: :(50% for paper and 50% for presentation)
This Project will consist of a discussion of why you chose your current major. In
your conclusion, state the career path that you plan to pursue (choose only 1). This
cannot be "general." You need to identify a specific job. Meaning, you are not going
to do "business." Maybe you want to be a marketing executive or you want to be a
manager in a construction firm or maybe a payroll accountant or auditor. You must
do some significant research into your fields. Your paper should include a
discussion of salary for the field selected and academic requirements.
- Your paper should answer the question of why you chose the accounting field. Select several of the following questions to address in your paper:
- Did your research open your eyes to other possibilities/concerns?
- What will you do to obtain your career goal?
- What is your expectation?
- So you plan to pursue your education beyond TTC?
- What was your previous career choice-if any?
- Do you plan to stay local or move etc.?
