Question:
Gaming entertainment is comprised of many different revenue centers. Today's casino resort is much like a "hospitality buffet" luxurious lodging, world class dining, Broadway quality shows, rock star concerts, high end retail, and more -- there is literally something for everyone -- and now much of Vegas is "family friendly."
How do these massive entities stay in business and remain profitable? What are "comps" and why are they important in the gaming world? Should the industry be regulated (should gambling be treated similar to a "drug")?
Have you ever spent any time at a casino resort? If so, what did you observe (from a business context). Please feel free to share any relevant personal experience you may have. Discuss
