Who are we? Comfort Packs is a brand that focuses on the needs of a backpack for university students while keeping comfort and style in mind. Comfort Packs is dedicated to providing university students with eco-friendly, comfortable yet affordable backpacks for everyday use.

 

What do we know: Through a simulation game we played, we went through 15 quarters/turns of a marketing simulation based on our backpack and our marketing plans to see how it would play out in the real world. Our team learned that our original marketing strategy had some flaws and we were able to fix it based on this simulation. Our original marketing plan had us not advertise immediately and we set a higher price for our backpack based on all the features we included which turned out to be too much. We were able to correct our mistakes in setting our price too high at $75.00 and eventually by turn 15 dropping it to $55.00. We also invested in advertising more frequently and spent more after turning 8 as we were losing money by not selling as much as we wanted to. We had to limit the features on our bag to only 2 features because it was getting too expensive in the price for our target market audience. Through the simulation, we have enhanced and improved our marketing strategy. We called this our "Stairsteps to Success"
