I think I see social psychology and cognitive psychology are the most interesting of the categories. I am a major people watcher, and my current job I work as a Recovery Coach and intake coordinator helping people into treatment centers for mental health addiction. You see very similar stories, different circumstance and people every day, and I would love to find a way to break through the psychology of it and really help these people figure out what they need to be better. I think that I see that world as biological and behaviorist. I don't believe that one trumps the other, I believe that a cumulation of these things bring us to be who we are. You can have the best genes in the world and still become an addict, you can have the best genetic history in the world and still end up with cancer. You can be brought up in a loving home and still turn into a complete heartless jerk. I grew up with a really messy family, and we struggled, but I have always been told how big of a heart I have. I have watched the world change ten fold and as a people watcher, seen so many different things. I think for me as the quiet observant child I was, I took a lot in and just put things together the way I saw them. My life was turned upside down when as for any girl, I met a boy. I had never done drugs, I was 18, and my mom was pure anti-drugs. I drank but that was it. I fell off a horse and had several surgeries. Being around this completely new lifestyle where weed was so much more lax and his dad sand sister smoked with him was a complete 180 from anything I knew. Then I found out a horrible family secret that was about me, and I went off the deep end. Didn't have the right coping mechanisms, or support and just went into a downward spiral. Going through all of that, and so much more, it led me to this fork where I could get it together and help people, use what I went through, to help others or keep spiraling. Thankfully I got here, and i think the walk down the dark side gave me an insight I'd never quite had before. I think psychology enriches everyone's life if they choose to use it. It gives you a deeper understanding behind whats really going on in the world. I think I see social psychology and cognitive psychology are the most interesting of the categories.
