Question:
If you are a manager, are you going to use social media and/or online searches to screen your applicants? Explain.
If you are an employer and use social media and online searches in your screening process: Are you going to call applicants in for an interview because you like their online presence (i.e., the applicant volunteers; have mutual friends; or have similar hobbies)?
On the flip side, as an employer, are you going to dismiss applicants for inappropriate pictures, activities, language, etc. posted to their social media platform(s)?
Once you become a manager, are you going to monitor your employees' social media activities? Why or why not?
As a manager, are you going to be friends with your employees on social media? Explain.
To take this discussion one step further, as a manager of an organization, are you going to be monitoring blogs and social media forums for comments made about your organization? If there are negative comments posted, how do you go about protecting the company's reputation?
