Question:
I'm sick and tired of having to look up for a cover letter for each position. I just want ONE cover letter that explains I have a little bit of everything. I've come this far on my own with no college degree just building a dedicated hard worker reputation and if there is something new I need to learn, I WILL LEARN IT and apply it! I've even had some employers deny me because I was "overqualified" for the position and that's with NO DEGREE. I've also had employers deny me because I have no college degree but yet I carry more experience and knowledge than someone who has a degree, explain that to me huh? Please help me, this is my background...
I'm currently 31 years old, since the year 2007 up until February 2021 I've been working in the administrative / accounting / finance field. However, I never went to college. Everything I've learned was through hands-on experience, studying on my own and taking some quick "Certificate of Completion" courses if need be. I've had only three jobs in all my 14 years of work experience, no gap. First job started as an Assistant in an accounting firm and ended as Full Charge Bookkeeper . Second job started and ended as a Full Charge Bookkeeper in a Real Estate law firm. Third and final job started as Customer Service Representative into becoming the Financial Controller and HR Manager of 6 of their companies (Repair Shop, Dealership, Bank of Dealership, Towing, Repossession and Real Estate; buying land, expanding their shop, collecting rent from all their other properties).
Basically, in every job I've had to be an Assistant, scheduling appointments, events, travel and even do personal errands. I've had to be a Receptionist, take emails, file, scan, fax, do weekly reports, inventory, deal with all incoming and outgoing calls and a lot of data entry. I've had to be a Customer Service Representative, deal with upsetting customers, follow up with on-going customers, take criticism and feedback for improvement, interact face-to-face, and go on weekly meetings. Finally, as a Financial Controller, handle and organize all business and personal finances including taxes, create budgets, supervise employees, run payroll, deal and handle company policy (HR) etc etc etc.
