Imagine that you are working at Seneca Bank as a Financial Planner. You are working hard to establish your Financial Planning practice and you realize there are many aspects involved in successfully managing your practice.Building strong relationships, interacting with and educating clients and delivering memorable and value-added experiences. Doing so helps build trust and loyalty withclients and prospective clients and it is important to your overall success.
When you first started in the role, your boss asked you to think about the following and how they would impact your practice.
- Your boss has indicated that the Client Experience is very important and that the company has a Client Satisfaction Survey they use to determine how satisfied clients are with their experience. She/he indicated that the results of the survey will determine 40% of any bonus you may receive. Since it is so important, they want you to explain how you will approach the Client Experience and what you feel will be most important in ensuring Client Satisfaction remains high.
- Relationships are a key to the Financial Planning business and the boss wants to know what skills you feel are important to, and how you will establish and maintain strong relationships with your clients.
Recently you have had to deal with a couple of client situations and your boss has asked you how you handled them.
- A new client asks; "How will you communicate with us, to keep us updated on the markets, conduct our financial plan review, and so on?" Describe 3 methods you can use to engage and communicate with the client and the most relevant Interpersonal Communication Skills necessary to utilize for each method.
- A client is worried about the current economic and investment climate and asks; "I've read various articles about what to expect in the future; there will be high inflation, higher interest rates, housing prices will collapse, and taxes will rise significantly due to all the government debt we've incurred. What does this mean for my financial future? It sounds scary." Describe 3 points to help reassure the client and the skills required to effectively communicate your message.
Grading/ Rubric:
The paper accounts for 15% of your course grade and is scored out of 100. The paper will be graded as follows:
- 80 points total (20 points per question).Content, including coherent flow of paper and the ability to communicate the content.Ensure you clearly illustratethe Practice Management skills involvedin each question and support it with references where required.
- 12 points per question- List 3 skills and why they are the most relevant ones to use in addressing each question (4 points x 3 Skills)
- 8 points per question- Your answer to each scenario.When you answer the question, including any visuals, it should make sense in a 'real life' situation.
- 10 points.Grammar and spelling are critical. It's important you check this thoroughly.
- 10 points. Sources and References.Using varied and respected sources. Include correct links to the articles. You must properly identify the specific content being referenced.
Length:
Approximate two thousand words.That means roughly six hundred words per question or about 1.5 pages and typed. Your paper should be include visuals. Suggestion: papers less than 2500 words tend to lack the depth and information needed.
What I look for is content, insight and the ability to show me that you understand the skills and the topic and can communicate it in a logical manner.
