Question:
In Activity 8-1, you reviewed the bureaucracy at the federal and provincial levels. In this assignment, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the impact of municipal licenses and bylaws. As an economic development officer, one of your duties is to provide information and referrals. In small communities, business owners will seek your help in navigating the regulatory maze.
Step 1: Select Select a Canadian municipality where you hope to locate a business. This business can be in any community in Canada.
Step 2: Review You plan to open a small food production business from your home (you have developed an amazing sauce recipe). You have two staff members who will work with you in your business. Using the resources contained at Business https://businesslink.ca/ and by contacting the economic development department of your chosen municipality, identify what regulations you will need to comply with to operate your business. Can you produce the sauce at home? Can you sell the sauce from your home? Is it allowed to have employees? Do you need to make changes in your house to produce and/or sell sauce? Were you surprised by the amount of regulation present in your community?
Step 3: Submit Create a one-page written summary of your findings. Your summary should address the level of regulation you would experience to open your salsa business. All sources must be cited in APA format. Upload your completed work to the assignment area. To achieve the full ten points, you must demonstrate that you have completed a thorough investigation of the steps necessary to open the business in your respective community.
